SUPER META, Facebook's new website to make money directly

TikTok has already given money to content creators, and YouTube has been doing this for years, but Facebook and Instagram are not dropping a penny. The reward system for Meta creators, a company that combines Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, is very strict, so influencers have to earn a living with direct agreements between brands, without the possibility of earning much of the platforms themselves.

Now it looks like things will change a little bit, as a new platform called Super is expected, which will allow for direct income.

With the aim of copying what Twitch does, the Super platform was surreptitiously tested on Facebook and Instagram. In fact, in 2020 we had already seen a Bloomberg report mentioning Super, although at the time it was seen as a tool that allowed fans to contact celebrities using Facetime.

The report is now from Business Insider, a broker that indicates that Super will allow direct monetization, making live streaming profitable, as with Twitch.

The idea is that people attending the live stream can pay for different functions while attending the broadcast, as well as make donations.

With Super, 100% of revenue will go to creators at first, and there will be an option for brands to sponsor live streaming by running ads during streaming. The model, in fact, is already being tested among some influencers, but we still don't know when it will be available to everyone. According to Business Insider, $3,000 was paid to these test influencers for the 30-minute Super test.

The website can be accessed in the United States from the super.events link, and although from MEta, it seems at the moment that it only allows you to log in using a Google account, so it looks like it will be an independent service.
